RS-One SE bookshelf speakers

The idea to create the next version of RS-One (which turned out to be surprisingly successful and inexpensive bookshelf speakers) arose after the successful implementation of the RS-Wall wall speaker system project, which used Seas Prestige drivers. Whereas the RS-One used cheaper ScanSpeak Discovery drivers. The advantage of using Seas Prestige drivers was sound with noticeably better resolution.

The layout of the drivers, bass reflex port, and terminals of the updated version of the RS-One SE remained unchanged. The overall dimensions of the speaker systems have become slightly larger, they are taller and deeper and are: W210xH420xD290 mm (compared to the dimensions of the RS-One: W210xH380xD260 mm). This was done in accordance with the optimal internal volume of the acoustic design of the Seas woofer-midrange speakers.

The technical specifications of the RS-One SE are not significantly different from the previous version, so you can view them on the RS-One page. There are differences in the crossover circuit of the SE version: 2nd-order filters with frequency response correction chains, a division frequency of 3.2 kHz, and no impedance compensation circuit.
In terms of sound quality, both versions are very similar: the sound is neutral without coloration, “monitor”, but, as already mentioned above, the RS-One SE has noticeably better sound resolution, which is especially noticeable in the transmission of halftones and details, especially in the mid-frequency range.
